I’m now buying almost everything generic. The only things I refuse to mess with are hair products, toilet paper, tooth paste, pickle relish and ketchup. Everything else, store brand it is!
I actually want to share one of my favorite sites with everyone. It’s called Hometown Favorites. It’s got a lot of hard to find foods and candies. Stuff that you think they aren’t making anymore. The site is not the most user friendly but it’s a goldmine of goodies.

Dave a famous gay once told me Crisco is the way to go. A vat of that should last you at least through the end of the month. Economical and edible.
Some things should never be canned.
Yeah, like fruits and vegetables, unless you’re pickling them or making preserves.
“Some things just should never be canned.”
I hope my boss agrees with you.
definitely I’ve switched. Foodtown brands seem pretty good though- and less expensive.

During this economic crisis, have all of you remained ‘brand loyal’ or have you been switching to generics on some things?
