May I say just one more thing, to all the folks who have moved to NYC?
Please put JUST KETCHUP on your hamburger. NY’ers do not put ketchup and mustard on a hamburger. We are revolted by the idea of both ketchup and mustard on a hamburger.
Also, do not put ketchup on a frank. Only mustard and/or relish should be put on a frank!!
I’m with Biff on the mustard….only specialty mustards, please. And I love the ones with the seeds.
“(when it comes to meat, I tell them don’t bring it to me unless it’s my shade or darker)”
OMG Snappy….I always order my meat your shade or darker also. I can’t stand to see blood as I’m cutting my meat.
benson -agreed!
mustard only on hotdogs
ketchup only on hamburgers
brg – yes tartar sauce is sorta mayo”ish” so I avoid at all cost – I also avoid ranch dressing -ewwwwww
hahaha!
BRG, my statement is that I essentially want leather on a bun. When I bite into my meat, I don’t want to hear faint mooing sounds!

Remember:
hamburger===> ketchup
hot dog===> mustard
When in NY, do as the NY’ers do….
I’d like to Welcome everyone to Brownstoner’s Condiment Corner.

In Mississippi and Louisiana they seem to slather mustard and mayo on everything. Going to visit my grammy always makes me lose a bit a weight.
“Roast beef without horseradish??”
With/without depends on my mood.
Now I have a hankering for roast beef dip with tons of horseradish on the side and cripsy french fries with mayo and malt vinegar.
With a pint of Fuller’s E.S.B. on the side. I had that at the Chip Shop yesterday. It is a great beer.
Biff, I like the French’s yellow mustard on my burgers with a little mayo and catsup.
Had it that way in TX and can’t go back. Most of the Fast food joints down south add mustard to the burgers that they sell without up north.
