DH, I totally disagree. I think poor people should subsidize parks for rich people, but, of course, they shouldn’t be allowed to use them. Rather, I think all parks in rich neighborhoods should be gated, like Grammercy Park, and only the rich people nearby should have keys.
well by that logic, i should also get a property tax for not putting offsprings in the school either. i also never call the police, do not drive, never call 311 or 911, dont visit soup kitchens or food pantries, and a whole host of other city servives. since i dont use any of them i should get a property tax break ()i know im a renter but even still it would be nice to get a yearly refund from the city for services unused.
“people who send their kids to private school should get a property tax break”
Couldn’t agree more, *rob*.
I also think people with multiple residences outside the City should get a property tax break since they’re not availing themselves of City services full time.
Denton, I think that’s the CP conservancy. The CP conservatory is that lovely garden up on like105 and 5th. Great place for a wedding.

I shouldn’t have to pay any taxes that I don’t want to pay.
DH, the Central Park Conservatory (I think that’s the name) gets its money like that.

i think parks located in rich neighborhoods should be able to get their operating expenses paid for by property taxes of adjacent bldgs.
i feel like they pretty much do no? although all the new buildings are all yuppie welfare condos. (stupid 421 tax abatement)

DH, something like “you got a view of the park from you place – $1k per window per yr”?
I shouldn’t have to pay property taxes anywhere.
