goldie that most certainly was not me! however there are a TON of pot smokers in my building. someone said it a while back in some thread, but it seems like 1/2 of park slope’s adult smoke weed. i only smoke it when im offered it, never buy it, but everytime i smoke i get so delerious and cant function. it’s just not good for me so i try to stay away from it.
i *think* you cant call the cops if you smell weed coming from someone’s apartment because there are deodorants and room odorizers that smell like weed that are sold. so cops cant just come in for some random cause like a smell.
I love Conferences. I make the kids tell the parents how they did and why they earned the grade on their report card.
There is no better feeling as a teacher than to watch a kid, generally the disrespectful loudmouths, describe to their parents why it is they failed or almost failed. Half the time I don’t say a word, I let the student do all the talking.
99% of the time that student’s work and behavior improves dramatically from there on out.
I teach 250 kids so I get about 40 or so parents at these things. Draining but well worth it.
If I can muster it I’ll try to swing by tonight on my way home…
