I personally like the What
I think his perspective is something we need from time to time and I have to admit he’s been pretty spot on in regards to the whole economy. He’s a bit of a throwback and I think just wants to be respected as someone who lived in BK before it became what it is today and is warning us not to walk the streets with the ipod headphone in one ear and our cell phone in the other!
I just wish he would refrain from some of the language and picking on posters..
Sorry, I don’t agree. First, I don’t buy the argument that this guy is necessary to balance out the arguments here. There are plenty of folks on this site who can make an intelligent argument about the possible downsides of gentrification, Bxgrl for one.
Secondly, I still think folks are missing my main point, and have a blind spot wrt this person. Again, HE stated that his hero is Sonny Carson. You know, words can have an impact and for that reason folks like PropJoe and Winelover are virtually banished from this site, yet here we are talking about someone whose words have been equally racist AND has said that he applauds a person who instigated violence and death threats. Why is he tolerated? There is a double-standard at play here.
I do not believe that What is racist. Why would he talk to me then? I’m white – as my baby photo attested to, and as some of you have met me know also.
I have spoken – umpteen times – about why I talk to What. I find no reason for me to defend my ongoing conversation with him. That’s between us.
If anyone disagrees with his comments, you are free to comment directly to What. And I have no vested interest in anyone arguing or not arguing their points with him directly.
