  1. I think the last day I watched television (sometime in early March 2010) there was some reality TV show on. Something about cooking, or maybe fashion, or singing. Doesn’t matter, I’m sure it was the same format regardless of what vehicle they used to deliver it. Like eating McDonalds instead of Wendys.

  2. “Now you may ask yourselves; Why did legion post about the dynamics of human relationships in the middle of a political discussion.”

You may say to yourself: This is not my beautiful house! This is not my beautiful wife! You may ask yourself: how did I get here?

  3. Now you may ask yourselves;

Why did legion post about the dynamics of human relationships in the middle of a political discussion.

I posted that anecdote because of its relevance to politics which is just the large scale organization and mobilization of human ideas and emotion.

The same underlying reasoning applies as to why you cannot counsel that woman in a dead end relationship, by forcing reason upon her or by forcing the thug to conform to civility.
The idea that a change that is most effective is initiated from within the human mind.
    Now I ask you all,
Why do we have an entire segment of society which consistently advocates for a nanny state which seeks to force “prosperity” or “success” or “achievement” or “fairness” with ideas like:
    redistribution or social engineering?

  4. legion- he’s right about that but on the other hand, what if the abuser beats her even more badly or kills her? What if getting him arrested or at least realizing attention is being paid to what he is doing might give her some breathing room. Even calling an organization that counsels battered women would have been good. You can’t change the nature of the relationship, but you can help the battered person have some hope. And that takes time and people reaching out. People in relationships like that can’t see a way out unless someone offers it to them. From there it’s up to them. We did that for a co-worker once. Unfortunately she didn’t get the help she needed.

“The human mind is complex and fascinating.”

Really? Have you watched reality television lately?

He’s right lech. I can see it in mankind’s ability to deduce words and phrases from just a few letters on Wheel of Fortune.

  6. “jackal, you are not interested because it is not a fight. it is actually a discussion. Maybe that is because you didn’t start it.”

Oh. I didn’t read any of it so I had no idea what it was other than I kept seeing words like “bohner” and “blah blah blah blah blah” so I figured we were talking politics.

You know who is a fucking retard? Matt Tabibi. Like Michael Moore he’s driven by the desire to incite outrage, not a desire to tell the truth. He appears to understand very little of what he writes. Does anyone out there actually consider this man to be a real journalist?

  7. My biggest partisan complaint these days is what has happened in the Senate to the approval of appointments.

Both side are horribly guilty of holding up appointments for reasons that have nothing to do with the qualification of the appointee.

  8. “I’m not interested because I didn’t start the fight on my own terms.”

But you’re honest about it 🙂

“My opinion though, is that the left is all too willing to allow ideas which are known to be proven failures, proceed without concern for the damage they do to the effective management of this country.”

legion- I could say the exact same thing about the right. The exact same thing.
