Oh wait I guess that’s xenophobia not racism. I totally mix those two up all the time.
It just occurred to me that I might be xenophobic against 100% of the world, including America. Wow, that was a real “holy shit” moment for me. Sort of a personal awakening.
Last year I took my kids to the Civil Rights Museum in Birmingham. Huuuuge mistake. “Daddy why is that man hanging from that tree?” Yeah. And then there was the movie about the freedom riders, which required a lot of explaining. It’s important for kids to know about those unfortunate 15 chapters of american history but I should have waited a few years.
Oprah is a very attractive person. She has maintained her popularity (though she is having challenges with the new co) because she is so warm-hearted. Not to mention intelligent, creative, articulate and a fabulous businesswoman. I don’t watch the show because I am working, but think she is pretty great.
(DH- now that you’re allowed in Crown Heights, if there’s an opening in my rent-stabilized building on a street with a bike lane, I’ll let you know. It’s a perfect brownstoner location. 😉
women, DIBS… otherwise I would have started pestering you relentlessly for strategy, sources and other tips the first time I ever read the OT.
I’ve always figured I like tans and accents because I’m so wonder bread white. I’m not exactly true to form these days–my gf is english for chrissakes–but I’ll always love exotic women.

“my gf is english”

“Freedom riders had gigantic balls.”
Yes, lech, which is why they rode without pants, hence their name.
