  1. “denton, so you proponent of v4 turbo charged 2 seaters?”

Actually, m4l, I’ve always been ‘chary’ of turbo’d cars, depending on who makes them. More heat, complexity, and so on. Having said that, my last family-size car was an Audi A6 2.7T, which has twin turbochargers. I bought that car as a CPO with a great warranty, sold it to a relative at 70k miles, and it’s still going strong.

But I’ve been trying to put on my liberal hat and keep my cars as long as possible. I’ve given a lot of thought as to what will make car last as long as can be and be as efficient as possible.

That’s why I picked a BMW 328xi with a manual tranny. These engines easily go 200k miles and so will the tranny, unlike slushboxes. I’m putting less than 5k miles a year on the car, and now that I bought a used M roadster, I’ll do a summer car and a winter car and keep them both for a long long time.

If I had to do it right now I’d buy a 335d diesel that gets over 40 mpg and has gobs of torque.

  2. “New York, PA, Oklohoma, virtually every other state PLUS our largest supplier is Canada, not the Middle east.”

okay. i know nothing about what factors into oil prices, so i’ll drop it and read donatella’s stuff later.

a gallon of gas is cheaper than a gallon of organic milk from upstate new york. that’s pretty amazing considering oil comes from very far away.

  4. Scott, I’ve eaten frogs, turtles, snakes, dragon flies, field mice, feets of all kind, innards, etc but I couldnt do the plate of steamed chicken asses which are supposedly a pricey premium plate. Couldnt even attempt to eat 1. Fried – maybe. Steamed – no fucking way
