Absolutely. I agree that spending is too high & I think both the last administration and this one spent irresponsibly. that said, $790Bn of the $1.6Trn increase in spending came in 2008 and 2009, so Iraq explains less than half of it.
But irresponsible spending supports the case that spending, not revenue, is the problem.
