YES!!!! it was a eurotrash couple in my building trying to get rid of all their furniture cuz they were moving someone else and couldnt take it. they had insane prices, but the couch was the biggest piece they had and i was like oh i like that and they were like do you and i was like ill take it from you for xxxx bux (i think i said 2) and they laughed and i was like youre just gonna throw it out no one is taking it and they said said okay 50 and i was like YES! ive been sleeping on this thing for the last 2 years. SO f’ing comfortable, way more than a bed!!!! if youre one of those people who cant be asked to sleep with other people than a nice soft leather couch is the way to go…

it’s funny, back when i was with my ex he dragged me to a housing works (i think it was a housing works) in manhattan and we bought a console (wtf?) and it was like 600 bucks. it was basically a drawer chest but covered in fabric. he really wanted it badly and i was like okay there are 4 drawers so we can each have two. such a waste of space. when we broke up i was all like well i paid 1/2 the price for that “console” and i also paid for half the damn stupid mattress!!! did i get reimbursed for any of that? no! so manda, miranda, and myself looted all his shit. then i felt bad and returned most of it :-/ furniture is SO annoying. i would never EVER buy furniture. 1000 dollars for a couch? what?!

furniture pretty much starts in the 1,000s of dollars for anything that looks remotely nice and won’t fall apart in a few years. so if there was nice looking furniture at HW and it cost less than 500 – than it was probably a good deal.

the furniture probably just seems overpriced tho cuz i dont think ive ever actually bought a piece of furniture in my life other than my black leather sofa that i sleep on from my neighbor for 50 bux a few years ago… pretty much every piece of furniture other than that ive gotten off the street for free so i never really see the value in furniture money-wise. and boo the shirt i bought :-/ i need to lose like 20 pounds for it to fit

i’m the same way though – i absolutely HATE shopping and i’ll do a quick skim and look for any reason to leave. housing works is great though
furniture is overpriced everywhere, though – although my coworkers have found some pretty good deals on it at HW in the past.
