Even though he has many years of experience as a political hack, I am daring to dream that Walcott will be a decent NYC public schools chancellor. It’s a terrible time to have the job but at least he has some personal experience with public schools.

The one in battery park was great back in 2003ish when it was first built and no one lived down there. I lived on battery park at the time and went to movies there all the time. It was always empty. It was like my own private movie theater.
Apparently these types of flea markets are quite the thing these days. My wife and I stumbled on one yesterday while strolling through Nolita (as it is called these days). We went in for a minute – very similiar to the Brooklyn Flea.
I cannot get over that people pay $28 and up for a T-shirt. I refuse to pay for a T-shirt of any type other than my basic white Jockey type. If someone wants me to wear a T-shirt with their photo, logo or artwork on it, they should pay me.
You should try the movie theater in Battery Park City. While not a VIP type, it has a pretty sedate crowd. Also, as RF mentioned above, the Cobble Hill Cinema also has a sedate crowd too, and charges less than a typical theater.
Randi, ref made some and missed some bad calls down the stretch. but lots of it was self-inflicted injuries by our Knicks. besides, it’s a long held tradition that ref’s does lots of home cooking with the calls at the marquee stadiums – just hope we get same treatment when it’s at OUR Garden

I usually go to Cobble Hill, except for big ol’ blockbuster type movies.
I second the BPC theater.

“bfarwell, think Kens meant it as Flee as Mr B probably trademarked “Brooklyn Flea””
