In the links, there is a trailer for a new documentary (woman is trying to raise money to finish it) on New York accents. I would LOVE to see that. How they keep changing. There is nothing better than talking to a cool old New Yorker and hearing them speak. Makes you feel so nostalgic. BTW, the imitation NEW YAWK super-exaggerated accents made for movies and TV are bad imitations of the “deese and doose” accents of 50 years ago.
