In the UK it’s gone a lot further than politicians.
You’ll be glad to know the small airport in Liverpool is called John Lennon Airport.
The one in Doncaster is called Robin Hood airport, even though he’s much mroe associated with Nottingham.
When I waited tables years ago Ed Koch used to come in for coffee. He was w/ the V.I.D. & was really cheap – nursed a cup of coffee for hours even though we offered free refills. He also was a miserly tipper.
But I liked him as mayor.
