    Agree in general.
    In the UK it’s gone a lot further than politicians.
    You’ll be glad to know the small airport in Liverpool is called John Lennon Airport.
    The one in Doncaster is called Robin Hood airport, even though he’s much mroe associated with Nottingham.

  2. BIff – what about Laguardia and Kennedy airports?

    I don’t think they should name the bridge after Koch – that’s silly

    Poor Liz Taylor! – now we will be barraged with media coverage all about her life in retrospect

  3. When I waited tables years ago Ed Koch used to come in for coffee. He was w/ the V.I.D. & was really cheap – nursed a cup of coffee for hours even though we offered free refills. He also was a miserly tipper.
    But I liked him as mayor.
