And I’m not willfully closing my eyes to anything. I just don’t care. It’s really that simple. Just because you are passionate about it doesn’t mean everyone else should be or is equally passionate or even give a crap. If that makes me a terrible human/citizen/whatever, I’ll be that.
“The tropical fruit is washed, scrubbed and passed to a third inspection point. The tropical passion fruit is lightly pressed and the juice is squeezed out by a set of specially designed fruit rollers. The passion fruit juice is separated from the pulp and seeds by a centrifuge and is then deaerated and pasteurized. To produce a 50 Brix concentrate, water is removed by a low pressure, partial vacuum evaporation.
The low temperature isn’t destructive to the desirable vitamins and fruit flavor components, thus microbial levels are low but flavor and vitamins are retained.
Brix is monitored by an on-line refractometer. An additional distillation step captures volatile aromas by recovering these compounds from the evaporated water. The aroma is then added back to the tropical passion fruit juice concentrate. The tropical juice is sanitarily filled into drums or pails and then frozen at 0 degrees F. The plant Quality Control staff checks the end product against T.A., Brix, pH, % pulp, total bacteria, and yeast and mold counts.
CMU, wrt your 2:11, I’ll tell you why I don’t give a shit. Because chickens, or any animal I eat for that matter, don’t mean shit to me. I place things like cats, dogs, etc. on a higher scale than them. And you know what else, I place humans on a higher scale than any animal. Put a gun to my niece’s head and I’ll gladly toss my cat in front of the B63 to save her. Without a second thought or any bit of remorse. I’d miss Pia, but I can get another damned cat. And that philosopher can kiss my ass, and both my cat’s asses 😉
>I don’t give a shit if the chickens get to run free in the sunshine or if they are limited in their space
Exactly the anti-humane attitude I talked about. Why, snaps, why? Are you FOR animal cruelty? I doubt that. Are you just willfully closing your eyes to it? Possibly? A society is known by how it treats its animals, a philosopher said.
While we are hardly the worst, the CAFE culture is the worst here, and it’s totally hidden from most people. Only the few who bother to read about it, or see the documentaries which lech et all contemptuously deride, are appalled by it.
we fucked up the food chain? um no i dont think so. tards growing 20 dollar rhudabega’s on their polluted urban rooftops are going to ruin the food chain if they get their way. it is that kind of food production that is not sustainable cuz it will never be able to feed our entire population. but oh that’s okay, let poor people die or maybe they can just blow their entire months worth of food stamps on a bag of apples at whole foods, right?
CMU, now you are the one being silly. You know good and damn well that dehydration encompasses far more than “Stamping on grapes and storing them in dark places.” Get real dude.

>This isn’t progress. This is the same shit for a buck more
I give up. If you really believe that (and you’re not like others who deliberately bait), there’s no discourse.
>You know good and damn well that dehydration encompasses
No, actually I don’t. Tell me. What non-natural additive does it use? Dehydration can be done at home with no ‘industrial’ mechanisms
BSM, silly me, the biggest words on the label were ‘STRAWBERRY YOGURT’.
Therefore, I would expect the product to contain strawberries, and yogurt 🙂
There outta be a law..

lets see how much aid will be sent to Japan by the companies that stand to benefit immensely from their tragedy
Japan is the MOST CLOSED MARKET IN THE WORLD. Only Japanese companies will benefit from this.
