    You don’t know that nothing is bad, cmu. Some people think that pasteurization is bad. You don’t know what complex compounds are in there that could be vital but could be destroyed in the process.

    It’s like what they say about mother’s breast milk. There are dozens of compounds that no one has identified as serving a specific purpose, and yet, there they are.

  2. BSM – really dumb question – my mom used formula – but that was in the 70’s – but what did women use as an alternative to breast milk in the 40’s and earlier? cow’s milk – right?

  3. Dona – from what I recall about the loans for women owned businesses, they aren’t lending the kind of money I think you’re talking about. It’s for mom and pop stuff, I think.

    Gem – yes. My mother was real old school, she did not introduce sugar or salt into my diet till after age one.
