  1. DIBS;

    Indeed.

    Most of my company’s main factories are in the affected areas. The reports I’ve received so far are of some physical damage, but no loss of life. The rail lines to the area are cut off. The guys I was with last week in LA were finally able to fly back to Narita. They are stuck in Tokyo, however, until rail and bus service is resumed.

    This quake may turn out to be the jolt that the Japanese economy and spirit has needed (no pun intended). They have this odd habit of waiting till their backs are to the wall before they decide to move.

  2. The Japanese people are so much more civilized than anywhere else in the world. Any where else, there’d be looting and violence in attempts to get food. These people patiently stand in line at stores to enter one at a time.

    I also think that things will get cleaned up far faster than anywhere else in the world, including the US.

  3. Oh and BDSM I agree with you about not being into the sadism and masochism stuff. About the closest I ever got was buying a pair of handcuffs and a pair of legcuffs with an ex-gf of mine in college, and then we used them and I was like…. uh, this is kind of boring and you’re basically stuck in one position, who thinks this is a good idea?

  4. I have been contacting friends in Tokyo. I really didn’t know what to expect, I just wanted to make sure that they were all ok. It was pretty bad, and one told me that they keep having aftershocks and it was the worst they ever experienced. They have earthquakes all the time there but this was bad. One told me that her bookcases collapsed and her dishes broke. I found out that they were all ok, but waiting to find out more details.

    Woke up to find that BH had unplugged the house phone so that no one would disturb me and he could screen my cell phone for me. (Now do you see why I love this guy?)

    that’s creepy as hell lol
