  1. The number of people who have computers, (and digital cameras)which they only use to get email, upload and send pictures out, is staggering.

If Dell or some other company made a laptop with only the capability for Windows Explorer and room to store photos and music only, they’d make a fortune. They already figured out that stand alone photo printers are gold.

I belong to Facebook only because of relatives and long lost high school and college friends asked me to join. I confess I never even check it unless someone sends me an email about some entry or a new “friend”. It’s too much information out there. Potential employers and colleges actually check you out to see if there are glaringly obvious signs of stupidity/culpability/criminal activity on your site. They caught some idiots on the police force somewhere in Long Island posting sexist and racist crap on Facebook. Stuuuuppiddd!

Does anyone else think that the proliferation of digital cameras, where the marginal cost of a photo is zero, will lead to the most narcissistic generation the world has ever seen?

oh most definitely. look at peoples facebooks and myspace pages. there is an inverse relationship proportionate to ones age and # of pictures they have posted. someone 25 will have 25 pictures of themselves. someone 30 will have 10 pictures and someone 15 will have 150 pictures of themselves.
