About 2 hours through the closing, I get a call from universal mortgage and Citibank. Citibank ran an additional credit check 2 wks ago and found that TD Bank also ran a credit check. Citibank will not release funds without an explanation.
I have no idea. Mad scramble to find out why ensues. Turns out TD Bank offered to replace Mrs DCB’s corporate credit card with one that gets reward points. (This is the corporation that Citibank refused to include as part of our application for income purposes).
Papers and emails fly back and forth. Affidavits signed.
An hour later, we are done.
Time for the seller to get paid.
OOPS! The underwriters check (*And it is a lot of money) has the seller’s name wrong. Close, but definitely wrong. CITIBANK PUT THE WRONG NAME ON THE CHECK!!!
They never looked at it to see if it was right!!!
No money, no sale.
So now we are waiting for Citibank to come up with a usable check, hopefully this morning.
oh dcb, shittybank strikes again! godspeed.
Rob wasn’t kidding with his comment about breast milk dairy products in the Country Living thread yesterday:
