  1. I don’t think I have had sloppy joes since I was a kid.

    I remember liking them, and I bet my son would like them now.
    I might have to join the new OT trend.

    Before we know it, they will be selling for $25 in all the hip restaurants.

  2. Legion, Long Island is a very segregated place. Once “minorities” start moving in, white people move out and the town “turns.” So Hempstead, Freeport, Wyandanch, Westbury, Amityville used to be all white, then 15 percent black, then 85 percent black.

    Hicksville, the town where I grew up (when it was 99 percent white and all the houses, including ours, had restricted covenants) now has a substantial East and South Asian population but still more than 75 percent white.
