Snappy…here’s a company that’s probably hiring…FTI Consulting…they provide forensic accounting, litigation & bankruptcy advice to clients. They are not a law firm but their business is booming….
you should call the company you’d want to work for regardless of whether or not they are advertising a position, find the personnel department, and ask about a position.
ugh it is SO annoying when people do that but i do understand it’s a viable tactic. it definitely won’t work tho with some companies.
“How would you get the phone numbers for these individuals mopar? Especially when there is no hiring manager or other noted? Or when the company is ‘confidential’?”
I believe Mopar meant you should call the company you’d want to work for regardless of whether or not they are advertising a position, find the personnel department, and ask about a position. That’s not a bad tactic, in my opinion. The worst they can say is “no,” and at best, you could stumble onto a company that just happens to want what you have, and may not have even had time to advertise the position. At least by cold-calling (in a relative sense) you usually get a quick answer.
