  1. Cobble, Good Impressions Cleaning. They are listed — or you can google them. Based in Staten Island, but they work all over the city. They have bonded people, good, reasonably priced. I have had good experience with them.

  2. “BFT, cobble. My deck is disgusting and the Big House isn’t much better. Can you say “rent strike”???”

If you paid your rent, then you could say rent strike, but since I haven’t seen a check from you in quite some time: ZIP IT! ; )

  3. “PLUSAs, Does anyone have a good recommendation for a super housecleaning service?”

  4. PLUSAs, Does anyone have a good recommendation for a super housecleaning service? Need a heavy duty spring cleaning type job done, and need an excellent licensed/bonded/insured company – 2 -3 people, windows, the works.

  5. Today was BEAUTIFUL!! I took off from work and did some things around the building, then went to Fairway and sat outside drinking coffee and having a pastry. So gorgeous down there. The air was so fresh and the air reminded me that there isn’t much more to winter!! I cleaned up all the black snow on my sidewalk (and all the buried garbage…ewww..) and sweeped up everything. Such a pretty, pretty day. It’ll get colder but I’ll take it! I really needed the warmth and the Vitamin D!!

  6. if anyone is still reading… while I disagree with the general grinchiness against poor people and food stamps, I couldn’t agree more with dcb’s post:

“My point is that believing your personal circumstances are beyond your control, pretty much guarantees poor results.”

So true… when I was a homeless runaway teenager I never even thought about this. I never thought about failure. Cuz failure was not an option, I didn’t fail.

DCB/Jessi: It’s one thing to get out of poverty, it’s another to move from mere struggling working class to the point where you can build some multi-generational assets. Very hard to do this in a single generation without developing some understanding of the financial markets. And if you’re smart enuf to get off the dole you’re smart enuf to do this.
