Yes, if you look up demodectic mange, you’ll see that it’s caused by a microscopic mite. This can be transferred to humans as well.
For the most part though, dogs are clean creatures without high potential for disease transmission.
Bites can cause infection of course but are worse from cats as cat bites are more like puncture wounds which seal the infection in while dog bites are more like lacerations.
