And of course the landlord didn’t complain because we were terrific tenants paying top dollar.
This apt actually should be covered under RS but the landlord ignored that too, and we didn’t care either because we knew we were going to move.
Just saying, in NY, if you live in a big apt bldg, chances are your landlord is rotten.
If I ever rent again, it will be from an owner occupant in a brownstone.
Sounds like he’s threatening you, DCB. And look at your lease. I think they can ask if they can show the apartment but I don’t think you’re obligated. Tell the Mrs. to turn off the phone or decide on a time when you will allow people in. It’s your call basically.

My landlord thinks he is a feudal lord and we are his serfs. First, he tells us we owe him rent. Except we paid him the first and last months rent plus a security deposit when we moved in.
He doesn’t care. He once the extra money anyway. When I tell him to forget it he says “You don’t want any trouble”.
Then he calls Mrs DCB and asks if he can show the apt (While we are still living here)
She wants to be nice, thinking maybe he will show it a couple of times. Our phone has been ringing everyday with calls from real estate brokers demanding to be let in.
Seriously thinking of turning the situation over to my lawyers, and letting them deal with it.

DCB – Check your lease. If it’s the standard blumberg there’s verbiage about landlord’s ability to show the place.
