Meir and Gandhi were not fat. Just old and not skeletal. And not beautiful.
Abzug and Mikulski were/are chunky. Again, not pretty, maybe didn’t/don’t care as much about their appearance as much as expected. Certainly more is expected from women on the national stage.
It’s really sad that any discussion of SP or any female politician ALWAYS comes down to whether or not a man would be willing to bang them. Their accomplishments, brains, positions on issues, backgrounds, etc, really mean nothing. It’s all about bangability. Pitiful.
If you’re not talking about banging them, then you’re discussing whether or not they are pretty, or fat. Neither of which have any bearing on what kind of elected official they would be, or what kind of person they are.
No, etson, but a lot of discussion of Cameron’s pulchritude.

MM – But people do it w/ men too – that guy Romney is always being evaluated that way – many others as well.

I never ever heard this discussion in relation to Mrs Thatcher (thankfully!).
“On the other hand, I cannot think of any successful female politicians who were very fat.”
