She had no skills. she was the receptionist, could not type, etc. She was a single mother with 3 kids. What she made in one night was more than she made all week at her old job.
You know, sometimes, I just wonder how somebody could do that kind of work voluntarily. I think maybe they were abused in some way otherwise I think some kind of circuit breaker would go off in their heads which would say “hey, life could NEVER be THIS bad to make me have to do this, like there HAS to be something else…” I think your reaction is natural. Wow. It is sad actually. I have a rescue impulse, but that is my problem, trying to be a St. Bernard all the time. But still. Sad.
Thanks again everybody. Rob, my mother has been sick since just before Christmas with shingles, which would hurt for us, but is eyecrossingly, climb-the-wall painful
for her. She is gradually getting better, maybe another 2 months before she is ok and my dad is getting surgery.
He is the curmudgeon who I love the best, a crab of Olympian proportions, but hilariously funny.
Hey, I really appreciate the kindness of all of you.
Thank you.

BedstyMaven,

“isn’t the crystal growing guy sharing a room with the guy who invented the water beaker battery kit?”
Yes! I believe so! I think they’re across the hall from the Suzi Homemaker oven lady.
Thought of the dongle because it was so obivious, but the orange might lead to better, less crass commentary.
Hope your dad will be ok, Dona. Keep us posted.
Cobble- isn’t the crystal growing guy sharing a room with the guy who invented the water beaker battery kit?
And you know Orange is a phone carrier, right?
But if a it’s closest to the number game you technically have a better chance if you guess high.
Arkady – great fruit routine. Where is Dave when we need him. I am sure he would have something to add regarding dongles.
