It’s really convenient if the pediatrician is on staff at the same hospital.
For both my kids we didn’t even have our obstetrician available! The resident delivered littlegirllegion and I even got to help.

When Mrs. D was pregnant, I made her liver and onions twice a week.
9 lbs 3oz.
We haven’t eaten liver since.
