  1. “They have good salaries, they have good benefits and pensions.”

But they’re trash dudes. They get no respect and they probably smell real bad.

Point taken on the rest of it.

  2. The layoffs at the DOS would never have to have happened if the union would have agreed to across the board pay cuts of a measly 3-5% and a slight increase to health care contribution…LIKE THE REST OF TEH POPULATION HAS ENDURED, OR WORSE!!!!!!

  3. “I think it’s kinda cool that the garbage men get to stick it to all of us once in a while.”

You know jessi, it would all be fair if it were something less malignant/dangerous, say a garbage strike, and they let the garbage sit for a week.

But NOT a blizzard where emergency vehicles would be impeded. Also, this lack of plowing made it extremely hard for a lot of people to get to their jobs—which they need and can’t miss a day from. Not to mention the people that couldn’t get to dialysis treatments, or a hospital or get in to see/check on the elderly. (To name just a few things). If this was a slowdown, I think the Sanitation guys are pr*cks for not doing their jobs. They have good salaries, they have good benefits and pensions. If it was a slowdown, then I think this was total B*LLSH*T and unnecessary and possibly criminal.

In Bangkok, they bring the inmates around to clean the streets. I wanted a few of them to stick it to me!!!!!
