  1. Given others are posting lyrics here and all the talk about ’80s songs (I’m a self-proclaimed ’80s music expert), I feel compelled to post The Smiths “Cemetery Gates” which I referenced yesterday.

    A dreaded sunny day
So I meet you at the cemetry gates
Keats and Yeats are on your side
    A dreaded sunny day
So I meet you at the cemetry gates
Keats and Yeats are on your side
    While Wilde is on mine

So we go inside and we gravely read the stones
All those people, all those lives
    Where are they now ?
    With loves, and hates
    And passions just like mine
    They were born
    And then they lived
    And then they died
    It seems so unfair
    I want to cry

You say : “‘Ere thrice the sun done salutation to the dawn”
And you claim these words as your own
But I’ve read well, and I’ve heard them said
A hundred times (maybe less, maybe more)
    If you must write prose/poems
The words you use should be your own
Don’t plagiarise or take “on loan”
    ‘Cause there’s always someone, somewhere
With a big nose, who knows
And who trips you up and laughs
    When you fall
Who’ll trip you up and laugh
    When you fall

You say : “‘Ere long done do does did”
Words which could only be your own
    And then produce the text
    From whence was ripped
    (Some dizzy whore, 1804)

    A dreaded sunny day
So let’s go where we’re happy
And I meet you at the cemetry gates
Oh, Keats and Yeats are on your side
    A dreaded sunny day
So let’s go where we’re wanted
And I meet you at the cemetry gates
Keats and Yeats are on your side
    But you lose
‘Cause weird lover Wilde is on mine

    Sure !

  2. “So you’re over holding my communication with What against me?! [I didn’t realize you did!]”

To be honest, I think I was bitter towards you for befriending him, given the heated exchanges he and I had at the time. Now I realize that was wrong of me to do that.

  3. BRG;

I hope that you get a chance to read this. As you know, I sometimes take statements on this site too seriously and as such, we’ve butted heads a few times (remember D’s & T’s?).

I’ve come to appeciate your style however, over the past few months and realize that you like to keep things light, and I mean that in a good way.

Don’t be embarassed – we know you were just trying to make a joke. As BxGrl put it, we’ve all written things we later regretted. Come on back, BRG, please!!!

  4. Yep, I got through all of that part – I’m on like post 260 or so! I appreciate your attitude and openess. What is an interesting fellow. I know how other people feel and I can appreciate their feelings. So you’re over holding my communication with What against me?! [I didn’t realize you did!]

Quite a day: again, I am never leaving town or I need to get a blackberry! The drama! Better than a soap!

  5. cobblehiller, somehow a discussion got started about how and why I started getting along with The What. I didn’t mean for you to figure out what started it, just meant for you to read the exchanges as I thought you would be interested in people’s views on befriending him given you and he (and now he and I) are on better terms.
