  1. DIBS, it’s definitely staying at Floyd NYC.

BOD, was just teasing…the “deec” and “driggity drive” threw me off.

I don’t think we’ll get 2 for 1, but the management said they’ll have wrist bands to give out which will get us $1 or so off each drink (I know it’s not 2 for 1, but I guess it’s better than nothing). I don’t know if they have a Happy Hour generally…I don’t see it on their website.

  2. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! this should be added to the dog thread from yesterday!

Neighbor Feuds —The tenants of the Upper Upper West Side’s Park West Village came together to try and fight the construction of the Columbus Village megadevelopment, but now infighting in the complex’s red-brick towers is tearing them apart: A lawyer has filed a $500,000 lawsuit over her downstairs neighbor’s incessantly barking chihuahua. The “whining, barking, yapping and squealing” kicks off around 6:30 a.m. and contributes to the plaintiff’s chronic back pain, the suit says. Both the dog’s owner and the property’s management firm, Olmstead, are named as defendants. [NYDN]

  3. I was thinking last night about the various political/sociological arguments we have been having the last couple of days concerning the What and the bull versus bear dynamic. I realized that we are mirroring the national political dialogue quite a bit. As Obama’s message in the campaign was overcoming stale political rhetoric and partisanship that has gridlocked our national dialogue, I feel like the discussion about the What (and BHO, cornerbodega etc) and what is appropriate language on here is very much like the situation we find ourselves in nationally. As a country we are very much in a mess on many fronts and the only way out is to overcome the kind of partisan rancor that has paralyzed our political system. I feel like my attempts at outreach (and those of Biff yesterday as well) are in line with the national attempt to reconcile seemingly intractable positions on domestic policy. While I have very little optimism that I personally am going to be able to get What (or BHO or any other person hell bent on the rollback of Brownstone Brooklyn) to see my POV, I do think it is more important to try than to worry about that. I would much rather risk looking like a naive chump than to continue down a path of distrust and rancor. I agree with Benson that there should be some baseline decency necessary for the establishment of dialogue (in the same way we as a nation don’t historically talk to rogue countries) but I guess I also understand that to bring together practically diametrically opposed world views will take a greater than usual amount of patience (the same way Obama is suggesting we dialogue with Iran without precondition, or the way Obama has been attempting to bring Republicans into the fold on domestic policy). I acknowledge the correctness of what THL wrote yesterday that we would probably get bored with each other pretty quickly without all the vitriol but a little boring peace would be most appreciated by me right now.

My two cents for the morning. Just realized I was grinding on this in bed last night and thought I would toss it out there.
