  1. Good morning folks;

Keep the chin up! Put things in perspective. Remember, this country has been through alot: civil war, WWII, multiple great depressions (we tend to talk about the Great Depression of the 1920’s, but the ones in the 19th century were actually alot worse). Whenever I’m down about things, I always think about what my dad went through: born into a broken immigrant family, grew up in the depression, and then was drafted into WWII at the age of 17, and shipped off to fight in his parent’s home country (Italy). I could also tell you stories about what his family went through working in the factories of Red Hook. Thinking about that puts things in perspective for me.

Snark: I have a follow-up comment to you on the thread about Gailbraith and Krugman.

  2. Thanks snark. Its not often that I get rattled like this but the recession has definitely done a doozy on my business, at least until summer when all the big rock concerts happen and I know I have business lined up. Plus this morning my nearly 3 year old drove me to the limit. Hence my grouchiness.

And yes, I have had it up to here with discussing how crappy the economy is with anyone. I am going to stick to calmer waters.

  3. “So is there any GOOD news today?
Is spring on schedule to return or has Wall Street f–d that up as well?”

The explosion of the Mutant Asset Bubble is great news! Man I’m so happy!!!!

    The What (Zippy do da!)

Someday this war is gonna end…

  4. > Is spring on schedule to return or has Wall Street f–d that up as well?

I am sorry to report that spring was securitized and the tranches sold to several small Norwegian villages.

  5. Biff,
    Green-wood is to die!
sorry, it really is worth it.
they have bus tours that are actually very funny if you, you know, get into it.

So is there any GOOD news today?
Is spring on schedule to return or has Wall Street f–d that up as well?

  6. Chin up, wasder.

I know we are all soaking in a media stew of financial doom, but there is good news out there to be had.

Last month I started a new gig that is much more enjoyable and significantly better paying than my last job.

Here’s wishing the same good fortune to you, and all the other good folks here.
