  1. What…why does your type always revert to violence when you can’t come up with a response to free speech??? I’d actually be for that Bocce ball thing but you better have your bail money in order and you’ll be be back at your favotite passtime of getting assraped in lockup.

No money on your book & case number commissary account????

    Fool

  2. Mopar, that’s such great news! You love that house so much, I’m so glad you’d decided to pull the trigger. It’s going to bring you both so much joy. Well, joy intermixed with frustration and headaches. They’ll be good homeownershippy headaches which are far better than the normal for no good reason headaches!

  3. “What, will you be joining us at the next gathering? Perhaps you and DIBS can play a game of bocce while sipping Guinness.”

    First thing Hi Biff! I have a idea ; ^ }…

How about me throwing the Bocce balls at DIBS head???? I could let ’em fly like Tom Seaver and we can share a laugh as DIBS is put into the ambulance…

Biff if you can make this happen, I will show up! Thanks!

    The What

Someday this war is gonna end…

  4. Mopar, I am sooo sorry. I didn’t mean to ignore your post addressed to me.
It would be awful if there was extensive termite damage. Is the house a frame?
Can you find out the extent of termite damage before going through with the sale? And I don’t know how that could be down without opening walls. Is there a way?

Good luck, and I look forward to reading your renovation blog.

  5. MM,

When I was researching the history of my home I found a good portion of it through obituaries in the NY Times.

The original owner of my house was a woman (how progressive!) who brought her father in to live with her once her mother passed away (they had lived in the neighborhood). Her father lived here for 7 years before dying in my home at age 91 (1916). His services were held in this house.

The owner of my home was a remarkable very liberal woman who besides being a full time journalist for a prominent newspaper, a musician, was one of the founders of several prominent Jersey City Clubs dedicated to woman’s health and literacy and was active in The State Federation. Two of the organizations she help found are still in active existence today. She passed away in 1947 at age 88 her services were held in a funeral home (a large Victorian) one block over which is now a private residence.

Myself, I’d prefer not to be laid out. Just quietly cremated and scattered.
