  1. “I practically felt sick to my stomach.”
was probably motion sickness from being on the ferry. Alas, they don’t have the ferry anymore. I’ve maybe spent $20 in casino land. Another $20 on lottery (gifts).
Raffles I sometimes buy – for good cause and odds much much better.

  2. better odds in financial markets than AC for sure. 50-50 odds in the market.

When Mrs. D and I were kids, we took the ferry from Bar Harbor to Nova Scotia. They had a casino, the first time I ever saw one. We got a roll of quarters and lost it all. I practically felt sick to my stomach.

I never visit casino and have never bought a lotto ticket. In spite of Wall Street’s increasingly casino-like atmosphere, I’ll take 50-50 odds any day.

Just be prepared to get your balls busted every day re the price of gold. lol.”

I’m prepared. Much worse to sit on the sidelines and not act on your convictions than to deal with contrary opinions or lose money.

Lech, next time I’m going to AC, I’ll extend invite to you.”

I don’t gamble. Why would I? The house always wins, over the long run.

I speculate when I’m pretty sure I’m going to win. That’s different from gambling.
