Rob, I like books too. I’ve got tons of them. My rich person fantasy is to someday have a house with a huge library, a room dedicated to nothing but my books, with a big library table and perfect lighting and comfortable chairs.
I used to keep all my paperbacks, but now I give the ones I know I won’t read again away. I never throw out books, I always either put out for people to take, or donate to Housing Works.
That said, if I had disposable income, I’d probably buy a reader, for travelling. But not travelling right now, either, and can always pop a paperback in my gigantic purse.
that’s true books do take a ton of space… i only have a few that i keep forever tho. mostly put them out for others take, and take others from stoops, but ive been so chary these days cuz of bedbugs. you can microwave books for a minute or so and it will kill any bedbugs
ishtar, there’s a site that tells you about free kindle downloads from Amazon – I’ll try to find it. A friend of mine told me about it but since I don’t have a Kindle I tossed it.
Ha! *rob* I worry about bedbugs everytime I check a book out of the library. Everytime. I check out about 4-5 books a month. I also pick up books I find on stoops and around my office. I’m a prime candidate for an infestation.
I’m using the Kindle mostly for the free classics you can get and for my book club. None of those books need to be laying around my studio taking up space. We aren’t picking any keepers, so no use in physically having them. I already have two boxes of books I need to take to BPL on Oct. 2nd.
WOW Pete. I never had a nun that bad unless of course you don’t include the one who took kids outside the classroom and banged their heads against the tile wall!!!!!

I hate spending money on clothing. Loathe it.
ME too!!!! ive noticed there is a HUGE correlation between how much money people spend on their wardrobe and how tolerable they are.
people who spend money on clothes usually are lacking in character ive noticed.
