  1. “Are you that anti-liberal?”

Oh no, it’s not that. I just don’t think the outcome of this election really matters at all and it kind of amuses me to do the exact opposite of what people who resort to calling politicians wackos/nutjobs/crazy/incompetent/scary want me to do.

I don’t really care who wins, but I do enjoy a good chuckle. That’s pretty much what it boils down to.

  2. Gold demand for jewelry has actually fallen, prices too high. Some supply coming in from people selling. So net Most demand coming from ETFs like IAU and GLD that are buying physical gold. Over 100 tons last quarter, if I recall.

It’s beginning to look a lot like the oil ETFs that helped dive the price of oil way up. And we know how that ended.

I own IAU and it’s done very well for me but the minute I get that ‘whheee’ feeling from gold I’m done.

  3. gem, enough gold gets mined each year so the global supply increases by some about in the low single digits if memory serves. Plus there is a massive flexibility in the global supply because so much of it is being stored in the form of jewlery.

I’ve never shorted anything in my life but I think I’m going to short gold.

  4. “The poll found the straight-talking Buffalo developer, the upset winner in last week’s GOP primary, had 54 percent of the support of women voters to Cuomo’s 34 percent. Men supported Cuomo, the one-term attorney general, 49 percent to 46 percent.”

    Interesting!!!!!!!

  5. ok thanks on the gold mining question

Lech -well obviously that’s your right, but man oh man to a democrat like myself that’s super scary that there are probably many like you who do that.
    Are you that anti-liberal?

  6. Well, lechacal that’s the most ridiculous reason I ever heard to vote for someone. What are you? Morphing into rob?

Dave- you claim “People will trust palladino to change the financial mess. He’s beholden to NO ONE!!!” Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I cal b.s. on that one.

None of us know how someone will be once their in office. But from what I’ve read of Palidino, he’ll be an arrogant a*hole who will try to bully and scream his way through office.

  7. “The US President has stayed at the Waldorf (not the St Regis) for decades.”

Of course, he stays in the Presidential Suite, which is in the Waldorf Towers, complete with its own entrance.
