“money from the feds to help NYS”
ROTFLMMFAO…More money from the feds???? Where’s that going to come from?????
TYPICAL DEMOCRATIC THINKING….MORE MONEY FROM OHERS. NO FOCUS ON CUTTING BACK SPENDING.
START WITH THE PENSIONS AND THE ENTITLEMENTS…Oh wait, if you do that the unions and the welfare class won’t vote Democratic anymore and then who else is there????
BWEAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA More money from the feds!!!!
All politicians say what they think people want to hear. Paladino is appealing to those who want fiscal order by saying all of the right catch phrases that appeal to them. “Halt the unions in their tracks, stop patronage, stop spending on welfare, get out from under the ‘socialism’ of the health care bill, yada, yada.” He even wants to kick some Iroquois butt because they refuse to pay taxes, and insists that we can save lots of money by training family members to take care of their institutionalized relatives at home. Picking on the Iroquois and old sick people really solves this state’s spending problems, doesn’t it?
The problem is, that while certain people can get all rah-rah over the horrible abuses of unions, and think Paladino’s their man, if you read behind the rhetoric, there isn’t a whole lot there in terms of actual workable solutions that are legal, for one thing, practical, for another. A governor does not have the power to just wave his magic wand, or big stick and change things. For that matter, neither does a president.
This state is in rough shape, and upstate and downstate have reason to be pissed, even if it’s for different reasons. Paladino may be saying what both groups of the disaffected want to hear, but is he going to make it better, or eff it up worse? I really don’t want to give him the chance to experiment.
Cuomo once said the following to me (I am paraphrasing; it was a few years ago and there was wine involved):
“The basic sell if you’re a liberal is that government can be part of the solution. But you can’t convince people of that if there is corruption, because corruption makes government part of the problem. And that’s why I am so focused on corruption – fighting corruption is the only way to make the liberal agenda work.”
I would bet good money that legion is the only person here who actually knows his stuff when it comes to climate change.
The others probably get their information from some combination of Al Gore movies, Oscar acceptance speeches, and random links their liberal friends have emailed them.
Legion: you will be debating the google search function, not learned humans. Proceed at your own risk.
ok I like Cuomo b/c frankly as someone with ties to other heavy hitters in Gov’t he will be able to get more done and get more money from the feds to help NYS rather than Palladino who will be shunned by heavy hitter moderate republicans and liberals in Washington b/c he’s a wacko nutjob that will piss people off with his nasty rhetoric and people won’t want to help him

haha – my favorite part of being upstate is driving south on the NYS Thruway. Even those bumpkins admit that NYC is the real New York!!!!!
All over the Thruway the highway signs say – “New York-160 miles” or “New York – Left Lane….meaning NYC!!!!
“Or how much they depend on NYC for their money. Upstate has been sucking NYC dry for years. So screw them.”
Excellent point.

I’m still waiting for a response as to why Cuomo is better for the job!!!!!!!
Instead I get the rantings of left wing liberal mud slingers.
