  1. We were talking about the NY Police Department recently (Gem don’t get upset) but it is really impressive how they are handling all the security. Pretty damn expensive too.

There was an uproar in London recently because the citizens didn’t want to pay for the police/city services to manage the Pope’s visit, security etc. Here we have most of the major world leaders gathered and we are still driving around and working and crossing the street (yesterday I was actually driving here, don’t ask).

Also, my sister was supposed to go to Nice this summer as part of a French vacation. Then the French government decided to SHUT DOWN THE CITY to tourism to accomodate a summit of African leaders. So they contacted every person who had planned to stay in a Nice hotel to tell them their trip was off. The agency she used comped them on a beautiful hotel in Monocco.

Isn’t that wild? They shut down the city and here we have
all the world leaders and we go on as usual. Or something like usual.

  2. Anyone watch Grey’s Anatomy Thursday? It was about a man going around the hospital shooting people. This after what happened in Baltimore last week. I can’t believe how violent network TV is.

On my vacation I was home flipping around the TV and on A&E there was a scene of a young woman crawling through broken glass in a dungeon while an unseen captor taunted her. I assumed it was one of the “Saw” films.

WRONG! It was “Criminal Minds.” I thought, is this a typical crime drama episode?
