Most grocery stores in Manhattan are gross. TJ, Whole Foods, and Fairway are pretty decent and don’t charge an insane price for run of the mill products. Tropicana is cheaper at Whole Foods than most regular grocery stores.
bxgrl, that Foodtown is better than the majority of places thrughout New York City, including any Food Emporium, D’Agostinos and all other Manhattan places.
So it follows that organic milk could be cheaper if they didn’t ultra pasteurize the stuff. The way it flies off the shelf in the brownstone belt, I think they could get away with the “normal” sell-by date. Maybe that’s how Trader Joe’s does it! (their org. milk isn’t tasty tho)
