I’d love to see Rob going on the auditions for American Idol, caterwauling in front of Simon, and then denying his own awfulness until he’s blue in the face, preferably with some hand in the face stuff
So sorry to argue with you Rob. What do I know in the face of your expertise? I only have a degree in music from an Ivy League college, I only took classes at Juilliard, studied voice with prestigious voice teachers and coaches for twenty years, performed all over the city, got paid, and even had a chance to sing at Carnegie Hall. I’ve auditioned for the Met, City Opera, and have sung with famous conductors. I never made the big time, but that’s because I chose to do something else at that time in my life, and walked away from it. I still have some mean pipes.
But hey, you think anyone can sing, something that has been disproven by science. There are people who are tone deaf and cannot translate what they hear to what comes out of their mouths. That has nothing to do with taste, or fuddy duddiness, it’s how their brains are hardwired. The signals just don’t cross the synapses. A condition you are more than likely quite familiar with.
