  1. Oh D-Cat, that is so mysterious.

So, Randi, you describe your activities on this blog as
    “antics”???

ET, I am now making distinctions among the cyclists. The people who are able to interact with drivers in a helpful way, are the ones who have the ability to lean forward (as in the racing pose) and turn their torso to see their surroundings and then SIGNAL to drivers to let them know what they are doing. (without falling off the bike…so if you are an out of shape mess, don’t ride a bike in traffic). Also, I have a tremendous respect for the cyclists who obey the traffic laws, observe lights, etc. If you are riding in traffic, you don’t get a free pass to do whatever you want. That’s why we have parks.

  2. Fraid so, DH. I have to admit, we are unhip enough to know where the good stuff is, and it was too hot to try to find it. We just hopped on the bus from Crown Heights on a whim, because I wanted to take pictures in Williamsburg. We didn’t end up in the right part of town for that either. I asked around afterwards, and now know where to go, so next time we do Williamsburg, we’ll go to a decent restaurant. If we had had a car, we would have been more adventurous.

I feel like a tourist who went to Paris, and ended up at Chez McDonalds for dinner. But we had brunch, so it’s hard to mess up pancakes and eggs benedict.

  3. “I feel weirdly at home every time I’m in Williamsburg. That is one cool ‘hood.”

I feel weirdly at home every time I’m in Brooklyn Heights. That is one ghoul ‘hood.
