Speaking of jazz, Puppets Jazz Bar (5th Ave, 11-12th in SoSlo) is having a rent party tonight and tomorrow. They are way behind in rent because attendance has dropped off with economy. Landlord is working with them but they need to raise some serious cash to stay afloat. It’s a great place and gives lots of folks a chance to play. They have great music, good local vibe. A great addition to South Slope/5th Ave and Brooklyn jazz scene. Stop in any time between 6pm-2am, hear great jazz and contribute whatever you would like. It is totally open house and you are not obligated to pay anything. I’m going to try to be there for an hour or two on Saturday night. Did I say I love this place? I love this place.
I sent Mr. B a tip on this but I don’t know if he’ll pick it up.
It was a gift from Crate and Barrel and cost about $20. I think it works great. I’ve made quite a few pizzas, flat breads, and rolls on them and they’ve all come out with a nice crisp crust.
I totally forgot to heat the stone before I put my left over pizza on it, which I believe caused it to crack.

I would imagine that just because it’s cracked doesn’t mean it won’t work.
