  1. I downloaded The Hurt Locker and started watching it with very high expectations yesterday. Turned it off after an hour. It’s one of those movies I feel I have to like given all the rave reviews, but I just couldn’t get into it. I get the same feeling everytime I try to watch a Quentin Tarantino movie.

  2. Gem, I think he just dropped out of high school and was able to get into college on the strength of his SATs. He may have joined the circus after dropping out, but that might also have been later.

  3. “Park Sloper – were you the one who posted on the forum once about litter left by a certain ethnic group in Prospect Park after july 4th weekend?”

    No, that was not me!!!

    ******

*rob*, I’m not going to give out his exact address or anything, but Paul Auster lives in the Center Slope, on one of those park blocks.

Another writing couple, Jonathan Safran Foer and Nicole Krauss, also live nearby, and once again, I think she is the superior writer, even though he gets all the press.

Oh, and there’s another such couple nearby: Kathryn Harrison and Colin Harrison. In their case, Kathryn is more famous, and justifiably so, though Colin’s thrillers are great — I highly recommend them to you thriller lovers, especially “The Havana Room.”

  4. Kens- I took the HTML class at a place called careercenter on madison and 34th – I think it was $299 – the instructor was really lively and I feel I learned a good amount – plus they give you a really great workbook

the google analytics class was through mediabistro.com I think it was $250 – it was intense actually and i learned alot – the good thing is you can download the lectures so you have them forever as reference. it was an online class so you did a chatroom 1 a week for an hour and you had to do Homework each week on a website

I would recommend either – I want to take a photoshop class next as my PS skills are ok but not solid. More and more I realize that marketing jobs require their people to know all this stuff which is crazy – but true so I am just trying to keep up with the curve
