  1. MM and Snappy, beautifully said. It somewhat dovetails into what I was trying to explain about Judaism (and the things bxgrl et.al. wrote). Unless one grew up black, one cannot speak for what the experience is like or how a black person is impacted by slavery and thousands of years of persecution, nor can a non-Jew fully appreciate the feeling BOTH religious and non-religious Jews have towards Judaism. Perhaps that sounds patronizing, but I believe it’s the truth.

  2. donatella, only ate roasted dragonflies frequent enough to recall well the taste of it. used to catch and roast them as a kid in china – usually while hanging around small ponds. skewer them and roast them
