Rob, your employer puts 2k per year on the flex card? is that normal? can you ask for the cash instead?
well we switched to a high deductible health plan.. 3000 dollar deductible we have to pay out of pocket before the insurance kicks in, so our employer put in 2000 and then the next 1000 would be out of our own pocket. i have not really used it much as im trying to save it in case of an emergency.. yeah i guess it’s normal. there is no way they would give us the cash tho. if it’s not used does it go back to your employer? or is just gone.?
Yes, that’s what the card is for…to reimburse you for any expenses medical related that are not covered. Lots of places still won’t take the cards so you just submit the claims.
You can download the form but you have to mail it in with receipts and perhaps for contacts also with your prescription.

You can buy the contacts and then submit the bills to the flex account separately. Ask them at work how to do it.
are you SERIOUS?! a few months ago i busted my ass scrounging to come up with the cash to pay for those ridiculous over priced contacts. are you sure tho? if that’s the case i have to order these contacts asap.
also it looks like we are changing out health plan AGAIN. im sure it wont benefit us.
do you think 1-800-contacts will take the flex card up front? if they do then im buying a pair of contact lenses for every color of the rainbow!!

I’ve actually never heard of the employer contributing to the flex card, only the employee.
rob, check to make sure this isn’t being deducted from your paycheck. Employer might be running some scam.

>I mean look at cmu’s post at 1:02. It’s comedy gold! I’m picturing cmu sitting there getting all red faced and outraged.
I don’t take him really seriously either, just counteract his outrageousness
