“Well, under NY law, I think, if you get divorced, both parties keep what they had before the union, so it’s not like I’d be entitled to the big bag of money anyway.”
Awesome, that means I get to keep my hockey card collection and Atari console and game cartridges.
DCB – you can’t trust the future Missus to not rake you over the coals?
JessiB, I do trust her. Way more than any prenup. That is really the only relevant protection.
Goodnight all. Goodnight Letch. Be well.
“JB, would you be open to a pre-nup if potential hubby (rich dude you love) extended one to you?”

rf, I’ve seen some lovely people, very much in love when they got married, turn into vicious merciless ‘killers’ when they got divorced. It’s a stunning thing. I’ve seen several now, one in my own family.
wish I was rich enough to warrant thinking about a pre-nup when I proposed. When one has peanuts in the bank, priority is protecting the set between the legs

“I don’t get the whole prenup thing. Why bother to get married if you can’t trust each other? (Not that I was ever married!)”
That’s called answering your own question, rf.
🙂

I think JB would prefer potential hubby extends something else.
