  1. So I went for a run over lunch. Financial district down through battery park, then up around World Financial, up the west side to 54th St, then through streets and avenues to Central Park, then through the park for a while, then back into the west side to Broadway and 72nd St.

I buy a ton of water at a bodega and get on a 3 train at 72nd st to go back to work.

Problem is I was literally gushing sweat everywhere. I’m balancing on the train and not touching anything because I don’t want to get anyone wet, but there is a puddle slowly forming under me and I can feel rivulets of sweat running down my back and legs and everywhere else and people are moving seats just to get farther away from me. I was that guy today. The weird guy on the train that people move away from.

  2. “$2.50 a carton!! Arkady wins the old timer prize.”

I remember my parents sending me to the bodega for cigs. 3 pack of unfiltered Lucky Strikes for the old man, 1 pack of Pall Malls (also unfiltered) for old woman. And they were a quarter a pack.

The old man died of emphysema, and as big a douche as he was, not a nice way to go.
