  1. “We are. Extremely dysfunctional. But who said dysfunctional families can’t be fun?! ; )”

Yes, we put the “fun” in dysfunctional.

Sorry, CGar. We stayed all of 5 minutes — too hot, sunny and crowded.

  2. No Kens, my cousin is a lawyer and a very successful guy with his own law firm. I have to say that his parents were really a pretty wacky ” pair and the kids had their challenges growing up. That being said, my cousin is a GREAT guy and he is very successful, has a beautiful family and his troubles growing up made him a very tender person.

  3. Whenever you read celebrities and some really famous / successful people’s profiles/bios….most have had really fucked up childhood’s.
I plan on providing my child with one so they can be an over achiever and very driven.

  4. donatella,

Yes, I think many if not most fathers have set expectations for their sons. It comes with the Y chromosome and the testosterone.
It’s hardwired into us at many levels, a competitiveness.

Many fathers live vicarously through their sons, if you catch a little league baseball game on a Saturday afternoon you will see this in effect.

    …off to lunch 🙂
