You know what would be better than the world cup every four years? War games. One country tries to take over a port or airport or city in another country, and vice versa. If it’s a draw (eg both countries successfully defend) they go to a tie breaking naval battle. Winner advances to the next round. Only rule is no nukes. No stupid 1-0 final scores and no annoying Europeans screaming “gooooooooooooooooooal” at the top of their lungs.

It is BP’s fault. It was operational incompetance on every level; these things don’t just happen like a flat tire, there are different levels of checks and balances and mechanisms which were in place to alert malfunction (one such device had dead batteries).
