imo BP is finished. They will have to be taken over by another major oil, who will bury the BP brand ASAP. Stock down another 16% today as this realization sinks in. Oil will continue to flow for weeks until relief well is complete.
If we’re lucky, no major hurricane will emerge that will push the oil up the east coast. But unlike the Valdez, that you only saw on TV, this will directly effect and be seen by an entire coastal population.
“even Kevin Costner’s got an idea, his brother’s a scientist
who developed some sort of centrifuge oil extraction machine that really does the job.”
Legion, nothing new here, these are called oily water separators and every oil tanker has one. Its job is to separate the oil from the water in both tank cleaning and bilge water applications.
One day I’m gonna go on a rant about this cuz the dumbasses at BP seem to not understand that the OWS aboard ship do not have the capacity to handle a shipload of seawater mixed with oil, and there was only ONE stinking tanker around. WTF!!!
legion, I’m just unclear as to why we aren’t just pulling out all the stops and using ALL of these methods, and quickly. There seems to be some analysis paralysis going on. Wouldn’t every bit help? I’m sure there needs to be coordination, but something seems ‘stuck’ to me.
M4L, I thought they were burning or had burned off some of it?
Up the mountain tomorrow. More contracts to oversee. Nothing ever changes.

“Why can’t Benson say he likes the name Blanche? I’m confused.”
He can say whatever he wants, this is America, lol.
But he said he liked it cuz it was an ‘American name’. Yet, obviously the name is French.
“take another puff, another gulp,.. and you’re more than zen state. want some hot wings with that too?”

m4l,
yeah, the admiral in charge said it’s too risky to burn it now, it’s too close to shore and too widespread.
this is one big SNAFU.
“DH, this is like a picnic compared to some of the other threads today!”
Yeah seriously – everything killin my zen today!
