Speaking of ice cream I had a scoop (o.k. two) of vanilla with mint chocolate fudge sauce for lunch today. The sauce is the same brand you get in almost every supermarket (can’t think of it off the top of my head) but I’d never seen the mint version before. Very good!
GRRRRRR! this is why people can get away with selling things for such jacked up prices!!! cuz people just keep buying things for those prices. biff dont you see your central role in this problem!?!? stop it! hope in the bananaboat with ET and go and buy yourself some affordable ice cream!!
65th and Fort Hamilton Parkway. For Chinatown head south. Great selection of produce (fruit and veggies). Parking is a bitch on weekends and peak times during week. I go off hours and still have to circle for parking.

I’m talking about the regular price, not when it’s on sale. And I’ve found that when it’s on sale, as one would expect, the selection is more limited and the freezers are a mess.
M4L, I went to a family party recently and I met a guy who grew up in Sunset Park, a nice Italian guy going out with one of my cousins. He doesn’t live there now, but goes back to see his grandmother and goes shopping over there and told me with WIDE EYES how wonderful, fresh and cheap are the chinese grocery stores there, how he buys all kinds of meat and chicken super good and super cheap. He says that his only frustration is that there are all kinds of interesting but exotic looking fruits and he can’t really get answers to any of his questions about how they are and how you prepare them because of language. He says to go to 65th Street (2nd or 3rd ave). Do you go there?
Dona, I have no car so Fairways isn’t an option. Plus, Trader Joe’s is more than a good substitute anyway. But since I can only go after work or on weekends and can’t deal with the mob there, I’ll just keep overpaying like the rest of the asshats in BH.
