I just went over to the Brooklyn Heights blog and posted this. Do you think they will get mad?
“Hi, first time poster here. I just retired at 65 and am looking for the best neighborhood in Brooklyn to spend my senior years. All of my friends say Brooklyn Heights is where I will find a lot of like minded (and aged) people. Any thoughts? Are there lots of geriatric services? What about loud parties and the like? Not to sound my age, but I would rather not hear that sort of thing all the time. Thanks in advance for your replies.”
Try to get to Chinatown early–before 10–or late–after 3. It’s totally nuts in between.
There’s a great street veggie/fruit market on Mulberry at the south side of Canal St. And for fish, the block of Mott between Grand and Hester is fabulous. The Hong Kong Supermarket (formerly Dynasty) on the corner of Hester and Elizabeth is excellent.
And you can go to DiPaolo’s on Grand and Mulberry for your smoked mozzarella, or whatever suits your fancy!

Teen Boys’ Fear of Impregnating Girls Drops, CDC Says
June 2 (Bloomberg) — Teenage boys are becoming less worried about getting a girl pregnant, with a quarter saying they would be pleased if it happened.
A higher percentage of boys ages 15 to 19 also agreed that it’s acceptable for unmarried girls to have babies, according to a report released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that compared teens’ attitudes toward sex in 2006 to 2008 to those in a survey six years earlier. The report also showed an increase in the number of teens using the unreliable “rhythm method,†which leads a quarter of users to get pregnant within a year.
Forbidden? That’s a wee bit dramatic no?
Anyone watch 9 By Design?

Do you realize how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
